Cho and I tried practicing our kiswahili with the vendors. She got asked for her e-mail address/facebook two different times.

It was fun, and a must-visit for anyone traveling to Dar. I will never buy my kangas anywhere else, as they are half the price here without even haggling.

On a related note, each pattern on a kanga represents something that usually corresponds with the phrase printed on the kanga.
