Another Safari

On Saturday we went on another safari. We woke up at 2:30am, left the house by 3, and made the 4-hour drive to Mikumi National Park. We had booked a safari truck and guide in advance. When we arrived, the guide showed up with a toyota SUV, similar to the one we were already in (plus a sunroof) instead of the traditional open-air safari trucks. We decided to save $145 and just drive through the park ourselves. I was uneasy about that decision at first, only because the guides usually know where to find all the animals and I didn’t want to drive around aimlessly. But the safari ended up being pretty great. We sort of remembered the roads we were on the first time, and we took them. We saw lions, elephants, giraffes, wildebeest, buffalo, warthogs, and all the things we saw on our first safari.
