Monday started off great. Eva spent some time running around at the beach. My dad barbecued fajitas. I gave Evita her evening bath. Then, out of nowhere, she started vomiting and became listless. I would pick her up and try to cheer her up but her eyes would close and her head would droop down. I was terrified. Honestly, being in non-childproofed areas the first thing I thought of was that she got into something. Maybe I was being paranoid, but I rushed her to the Emergency Care Clinic where the doctor examined her and determined she just contracted a nasty virus that was going around. I was a little relieved, but still so bummed that my little girl was sick. I had never seen her so sick before, and the illness lasted all week long. She had never been sick that long. Not only that, but Eva passed it to my dad, my mom, my little brother, and my step-dad. I was basically sitting back and waiting for it to hit me too, but for some miraculous reason it didn’t. Maybe my body knew that there was no way I could afford to get sick. It was exhausting enough looking after my baby. I’m almost positive she picked it up at the Kid’s Club at the gym, so it was even worse knowing it was probably my fault. But I guess picking up these bugs every now and then are good for her and her immune system. Poor little baby… By Friday Eva was her normal self again and I took her to the beach and the park and let her get as much fresh air as possible.
