Evita surprises me everyday with how cool she is with having a new baby in the house. She really loves her brother and tells him all the time. She gives him kisses and is always trying to help. One day she asked to hold the baby. When we let her do it, she immediately lifted up her shirt and said, “Milky?” She wanted to feed him. So adorable. Other than that, she’s the same little two-year-old she was before her brother’s arrival. She spends most of her day throwing her toys all over the floor and looking for things to terrorize. I love her so much.

Damian’s first week was a blur. He nursed every two hours, sometimes even more frequently, even through the night. Needless to say, by the end of the week I was exhausted. Still, it’s so nice to have a newborn in the house again. I love looking at all his little facial expressions and watching all his newborn reflexes. My favorite is when he shakes his head very quickly looking for food. He’s also been giving us lots of goofy sleep smiles. He sleeps most of the day but when he is awake he is very alert. He looks around and takes in what he can of the world around him. He surprisingly doesn’t care much for his swing, but he loves the Moby wrap. I wish he was more fond of the swing, though, so I could get more of a break. At his first doctor’s visit at five-days old, he only lost 2% of his body weight. The doctor said he was doing really well but she wanted to check him again for jaundice at one week. So two days later we went in and he was back at his birth weight. I’m so grateful for a healthy little newborn. I look forward to the weeks ahead!
